The number of beaches in Antalya that meet the blue flag criteria is more than 200. Apart from sea-sun-sand tourism, the city is also developed in other areas in tourism. Museums and ruins are visited by millions of people every year.

The well-preserved Aspendos Theatre, the ruins in Perge, the ancient city of Side, the Archaeological Museum, and the historic city center Kaleici are among the must-see places in Antalya.

Burdur also has great museums and fascinating historical sites. Sagalassos Ancient City, one of Turkey’s best archaeological sites, is located in the province of Burdur, on Mount Akdag, at an altitude of 1450–1700 meters. Sagalassos was the most important city of the Roman imperial period. Burdur Archaeological Museum is the showroom of Sagalassos. All the sculptures in this museum were once on the top of that mountain, in the beautiful Sagalassos.

Hatay, the eastern province of the region, has the largest mosaic museum in Turkey. Hatay Archeology Museum exhibits many important artifacts from ancient times. It is one of the leading mosaic museums in the world in terms of the number and quality of its mosaic collection.

Hatay is also home to Turkey’s only Armenian village, Vakifli, and the Church of Saint Peter, one of the oldest churches of Christianity.
